• A thesis assignment is a document that contains tasks that must be completed as part of a thesis.
• An abstract is a brief summary of the content of the thesis.
• The table of contents is a list of sections and subsections of the thesis with page numbers.
• The list of conventions, abbreviations and terms is a list of conventions, abbreviations and terms used in the thesis.
• The introduction is the first section of the thesis, which substantiates the relevance of the topic, formulates the purpose and tasks of the research, and gives an overview of the main literary sources.
• The main part is the central section of the thesis in which the research results are presented. The main part may include one or more sections that correspond to the tasks.
• The conclusion is the final section of the thesis, which summarizes the results of the research, formulates the main conclusions and recommendations.
• The list of used literature is a list of sources referred to in the thesis.

In addition to these mandatory elements, the thesis may also contain the following optional elements:

• References are a list of references to sources that are not cited in the thesis.
• Appendices are materials that are not mandatory for consideration in the main part of the thesis, but which may be useful for the reader.

The structure of the thesis can be changed depending on the specifics of the research topic and the requirements of a specific institution of higher education.

Completion of the thesis

Drawing up a thesis is an important stage of its preparation. The overall impression on the reviewer and the examination board depends on how well the work will be designed.

The requirements for writing a thesis are established by the higher educational institution. They are usually contained in methodological recommendations for writing theses issued by the department or faculty.

In particular, the thesis must be written on A4 paper (210 x 297 mm), printed in Times New Roman font, size 14 points, with a line spacing of 1.5 and a paragraph indent of 1.25 cm. Indents from the edge of the page: left - 3 cm, right - 1 cm, upper and lower - 2 cm each. However, these data can also change depending on the requirements of the ZVO.

Evaluation of the thesis

The diploma work is evaluated by a commission, which includes scientific and pedagogical employees of the higher educational institution. Based on the results of the thesis defense, the student receives a grade that is one of the criteria for awarding him a bachelor's or master's degree.
