The closer the graduation from secondary and higher education institutions, the more urgent the issue of applying for a master's degree becomes. For applicants from the temporarily occupied territories, the admission requirements are simplified.

The decision to apply for a master's degree is a crucial moment in life. For some, it is mandatory, for others it is optional. Today we will analyse which specialities are the most popular among applicants in 2024. We will also note the conditions and documents required for admission to a magistracy.

Admission requirements for magistracy in 2024

There are a number of conditions for admission to a magistracy, including:

  • passing the CEE (Common Entrance Exam)
  • passing the CPET ( Common Professional Entrance Test) for some specialities (you can find out on the website of the chosen university).
  • application
  • package of required documents

According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 379/41724, admission to interdisciplinary educational and scientific programmes of the second (master's) level of higher education is carried out for the one for which an entrance test in the form of the CPET is provided (for one of the specialities at the choice of the higher education institution, if the CPET is provided for both specialities, or not provided for any of them).

What documents are required for admission to a magistracy

To apply for a master's degree, you must submit a package of documents. Among them are:

  • an identity document
  • examination letter received during registration for the CEE/CPET
  • a military registration document (for persons liable for military service – a military ID card or a temporary certificate of a person liable for military service, for conscripts – a certificate of registration with a military registration office)
  • a state standard document on the previously obtained educational (educational qualification) level on the basis of which the admission is carried out, if information about it is not stored in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education
  • documents confirming the grounds for special conditions for participation in the admission campaign, information about which is available in state registers
  • a colour photo up to 1 MB in jpg format with an aspect ratio of 3 x 4

Please note that higher education institutions may establish an additional list of documents required for admission. This is related to admission on the basis of a competitive offer or admission to a specific speciality.

Registration for the CEE/CPET

The main period lasted from 7 to 29 May, during which time registration for the main session was open.

Those who for some reason could not register during the main period can do so during the additional period – 17-21 June

The registration process is carried out by the admissions offices of higher education institutions. Registration of prospective students is carried out via e-mail or other communication channels determined by the educational institution. For this purpose, higher education institutions publish on their websites the email address of the admission committee, as well as telephone numbers for consultations with applicants.

An applicant can register at any university that conducts admission to a master's degree programme in the chosen speciality (even if he or she does not plan to enter this institution).

Admission to a magistracy is a crucial moment for students. If you have decided to apply but missed the main registration period, do not lose the opportunity to register during the additional period. When choosing a university, be sure to find out what admission requirements are set for students and what additional documents you need to prepare.
